Falcone pianos by American Sejung

picture of Falcone pianos by American SejungThe Falcone piano company was founded by Santi Falcone, a piano technician and rebuilder in the Boston area who, in the early 1980’s, began to build his own grand pianos.

Originally from Sicily, Falcone came to the United States at the age of fourteen and began tuning pianos at sixteen. Troubled both by the inferior, mass produced character of many pianos and by the incredibly high prices of the high-quality pianos, he set out to build an instrument that was high caliber, but also affordable.

Acquired by American Sejung in 2001

Falcone's piano was known for its warm, singing tone, and was considered to be a "poor man's" Steinway. While it's design was considered innovative, the company itself was never well-funded and ran into financial difficulties. In 2001, it was acquired by American Sejung Company (ASC), the American division of the Korean company, Sejung.

Made in Largest Piano Factory in China

Sejung today is about $1 billion in size and has distinguished itself in the market by building in Qingdao, China, what is considered to be the largest stringed instrument plant in the world. Sejung produces pianos and is also one of the largest guitar manufacturers in the world. Its piano lines include Falcone, George Steck, and Hobart M. Cable, which are all aimed at the entry and mid-levels of the market.

Falcone's Distinctive Cases

The Falcone brand is ASC's top-of-the-line piano, and is distinguished by having unique cabinets, distinctive leg designs, and exotic woods that are typically found in higher segments of the market. The Falcone Georgian Series grand pianos, for example, have a distinctive African Bubinga wood inner liner, which adds elegance and beauty to the piano's appearance.

High End Features, But Modest Price

The Georgian Series Falcone, which is a mid-level piano, features Abel hammers and Roslau strings from Germany, gold-plated interior hardware, solid maple-caped bridges, and solid Siberian spruce soundboards. Some models, furthermore, have Italian Ciresa spruce soundboards from the Val Di Feme.

Georgian Falcone Series vertical pianos feature Ciresa solid spruce soundboards from Italy, Roslau strings, Abel hammers, gold-plated hardware, and agraffes on every note. One model also is made from bubinga wood, which is typically only available on far more expensive pianos.

We believe that the Falcone piano is an outstanding price/performance value in the marketplace, and encourage you to come look at them, especially if you're looking for something that will make an elegant statement in your home, yet still be an affordable piano.
